About the role
- Create and revise design drawings of high voltage transmission and distribution substations including: Site plans.
- Foundation plans and details.
- Structural Steel plans and fabrication details.
- Peer review of other’s drawings.
- Maintain drawing files – archived, current and working revisions.
- Update drawings to field as-built conditions.
- Teach and mentor young designers and/or new employees on civil/structural design and company practices.
- Participate in the development and review of company standards and design tools to optimize design applications.
- Provide project support/office support as required.
- Occasional travel to field sites or working at a client’s office may be required.
Requirements
- 5+ Years’ Experience in Design of Transmission Level Substations (13.8kV – 500 kV)
- Good written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to work well with others in a team setting
- Skilled in problem solving in time-sensitive situations
- Demonstrated experience in AutoCAD (2015 or later) – Advanced, required
- Advanced/Intermediate experience in MicroStation – preferred
- Intermediate experience in Microsoft Word
- Intermediate experience in Microsoft Excel
- Intermediate experience in Microsoft Outlook
