About the role
- Under general supervision, but following established policies and procedures, leads community engagement initiatives that result in business generation.
- Collaborates and engages with community partners and employees to accurately assess community needs that drive business growth.
- Provides support to participating school districts and business partners by conducting on-site and/or virtual open enrollment sessions and participating in community festivals and partners' benefits fairs to assist members/potential members in understanding and using credit union products and services.
- Adapts to changing needs while maintaining positive relationships with community and business partners, including identifying new business opportunities.
- Performs other Community Engagement duties as assigned by the Community Engagement Officer.
- Performs duties and responsibilities in accordance with The Apple Way principles, of Team Up, Serve with Purpose, Challenge Yourself and Own It.
- Remains cognizant of and adheres to credit union policies and procedures, and regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act.
- Measures all new membership growth and activity from community events, benefits fairs, and open enrollments in an effort to inform future decisions regarding event participation.
- Supports other Community Engagement efforts including volunteer events, shred events, and Apple-generated drives (school supply, food, etc.).
- Supports and nurtures branches in community engagement activities including the management of the community events calendar.
- Encourages branch managers and other staff participating in community events through positive coaching skills learned in AWIS and through leading by example.
Requirements
- Minimum three to five years financial services industry experience and/or sales experience required.
- Minimum three years event planning experience or equivalent preferred.
- A high school education or GED.
- AA or BA/BS preferred.
- Fluency in Spanish and English (speaking, reading, and writing) is required to effectively engage with Spanish-speaking members, deliver presentations, and support community partners.
- The ability to lift 25 lbs. and utilize standard office equipment including, but not limited to, PC, fax, copier, telephone, etc.
