About the role
- Provide technical customer support for clients using the Appian platform, specializing in troubleshooting and resolving customer concerns
- Become an expert on the inner workings of the Appian platform and gain full-stack experience across data, application, and system layers
- Analyze data and apply creative problem solving to address complex technical issues and mitigate customer impact
- Collaborate cross-functionally across departments and communicate technical work to stakeholders around the globe
- Work with customers to lead continual improvement in the availability, performance, functionality, and security of the platform
- Participate in after-hours support including one on-call rotation per quarter and occasional adjusted schedules
- Role is based at Headquarters in McLean, Virginia with in-office collaboration expected 5 days a week
Requirements
- To be excellent at problem solving and find creative solutions to some of our customer’s most complex technical concerns
- To provide exceptional, world-class support (verbal/written) to our customers and our highest stakeholders around the globe
- To tackle technical challenges and communicate your work across a variety of departments
- To have a strong interest in software development (but not wanting to focus on coding all day)
- To have the desire to work closely with our customers to help lead continual improvement in the availability, performance, functionality and security of our platform
- To have an interest in data analytics
- To have an interest or experience in programming/scripting languages(e.g. Java, Perl, Ruby, C#, PHP)
- To have an interest in or experience with RDBMS platforms (e.g. MySql, Oracle, SQL Server)
- To have an interest in or experience with systems administration (e.g. Linux, Windows)
- Bachelor’s degree in any an Engineering discipline, Information Technology, or similar degree program
- Flexibility to provide after-hours support is required, including one on-call rotation per quarter (every 10 - 15 weeks). Additionally, up to one quarter per year may involve an adjusted schedule (Sunday -Thursday or Tuesday - Saturday).
