About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Listen to audio recordings and create accurate written transcripts of what is spoken.
Transcribing audio recordings into text with high accuracy.
Capturing speech exactly as spoken, including pauses, filler words (e.g., "uh," "um"), repetitions, and incomplete sentences.
Adding timestamps to match the audio.
Identifying and labeling different speakers in conversations.
Marking non-speech events such as laughter, background noise, or unclear audio.
Ensuring high-quality transcription output through attention to detail and strong listening skills.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Excellent knowledge of and familiarity with spelling conventions in Amharic language.
Can be located anywhere, but must be fluent in Ethiopian dialect.
Good reading comprehension skills in English.
Stable internet connection.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to review examples and apply rules to the provided data.
Prior experience with transcription.
Prior experience with audio data.
Access to a PC/laptop or an iPad.
