About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Listen to audio recordings and create accurate written transcripts of what is spoken.
- Transcribing audio recordings into text with high accuracy.
- Capturing speech exactly as spoken, including pauses, filler words (e.g., "uh," "um"), repetitions, and incomplete sentences.
- Adding timestamps to match the audio.
- Identifying and labeling different speakers in conversations.
- Marking non-speech events such as laughter, background noise, or unclear audio.
- Ensuring high-quality transcription output through attention to detail and strong listening skills.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Excellent knowledge of and familiarity with spelling conventions in Amharic language.
- Can be located anywhere, but must be fluent in Ethiopian dialect.
- Good reading comprehension skills in English.
- Stable internet connection.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to review examples and apply rules to the provided data.
- Prior experience with transcription.
- Prior experience with audio data.
- Access to a PC/laptop or an iPad.
