Direct supervision and development of the Structural Engineering Team
Lead the co-op/summer intern program to develop potential future employees
Mentor and provide direction during production and proposal phases
Oversee structural calculations and design optimizations
Assist with product selection, value engineering, and industry-standard calculations

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in Engineering
Five or more years of related experience
Licensed as a Professional Engineer
Demonstrated experience with leading and influencing others
Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities in team management, structural skills, tools enablement
Design and value engineering knowledge
Spec interpretation including structural, thermal, and acoustical
Familiarity with codes and standards (IBC, IECC, ASCE, ADM)
In-depth die design knowledge
Basic technical knowledge of purchased materials
Methods Development skills a plus
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, with a strong focus on empathy and customer
Understanding of manufacturing practices and new manufacturing methods
Ability to build, develop and coach a cohesive team
Creativity and progressive thinking
Six Sigma Green Belt preferred; knowledge of Lean processes required
Excellent 2-D AutoCAD proficiency; 3-D, Inventor, etc. skills are a plus
Understanding of basic structural calculations (I-Values, buckling, anchor design, etc.)
