About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide program management support for current and future Air Force Weather Expeditionary Weather (ExMET) systems and research and development projects
- Assist in executing research and development, procurement, and operations and maintenance contracts and agreements
- Provide independent analysis to support life cycle planning and execution
- Support program Integrated Product Team (IPT) efforts, requirements, management approaches, special studies, and contract compliance tracking
- Analyze acquisition policy issues and guidance impacting program schedules
- Support coordination and integration of IPTs, Long Range Plan, and related Vision processes
- Prepare reports and briefings for IPTs, Functional Managers, and senior decision-makers
- Facilitate risk analysis, risk tracking, and documentation in the enterprise risk management tool
- Provide management process and metrics inputs; manage and process requirements; validate and verify technical proposals and recommended actions
- Develop and maintain monthly cost, schedule, and performance metrics
- Prepare RFP packages, MIPRs, milestone documentation, and other acquisition program documentation
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must be a US citizen
- Must possess and maintain a Secret clearance
- High School Diploma
- 20 years of relevant experience, including 8 years supporting the DoD
- Strong knowledge and experience applying DoD and Air Force acquisition processes, policies, procedures, and statutory/regulatory requirements
- Experience managing critical aspects of acquisition programs across the Acquisition Framework
- Strong understanding of Air Force Weather organizational structure, mission, and relationships
- Experience communicating oral and written thoughts to senior leaders and business partners
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree and at least 15 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years supporting the DoD, OR Master’s degree and at least 12 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years supporting the DoD
