About the role
- As a Category & Sourcing Manager, you are an expert in your product category and responsible for sales growth and profitability.
- You manage and develop relationships with our suppliers, act as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, and run daily operations with a KPI-driven approach.
- You safeguard the company's competitiveness through profit-oriented procurement management and a strong purchasing strategy.
- You independently conduct terms and price negotiations with the suppliers in your assigned category.
- You are responsible for the entire supplier relationship and perform active key account management; when necessary you delegate tasks and responsibilities to the specialist departments.
- You are primarily responsible for achieving the negotiated terms that ensure the company's success.
- You are responsible for onboarding and acquiring innovative suppliers and ensuring a diversified supplier base.
- You share responsibility for marketing your assortment area, negotiate trade promotion budgets (WKZ) and work closely with the marketing teams.
- You are responsible for the strategic and operational optimization of your assortment area.
- You develop an assortment strategy with clear targets for your categories, implement it and drive target achievement.
- You regularly analyze the key KPIs and define measures. You actively use tools to evaluate and visualize KPIs.
- You monitor supplier performance and implement measures to improve it; in case of deviations you take corrective actions.
- You are responsible for seasonal priorities and ensure optimal sell-through and product availability.
Requirements
- Professional qualification: You hold a degree in economics, marketing, business administration or a comparable qualification.
- Experience in category management or strategic procurement: You bring relevant experience in terms and price negotiations, supplier management or online category management.
- Analytical competence: You demonstrate strong analytical skills to assess supplier performance and optimize terms.
- Communication skills: You can present and communicate confidently and work independently and solution-oriented.
- Digital know-how: You are proficient with digital tools such as Excel and Word and have a strong affinity for e-commerce.
- Team-player mentality: You work constructively in a team, willingly share your knowledge and enjoy collective success.
- Language skills: You have fluent German and good English skills, both written and spoken.
- Additional profile strengths: You have initial experience with ERP systems (Business Central/SAP) and with analytics tools (Tableau/Looker/Power BI).
- You have initial knowledge of the pharmaceutical market and the pharmaceutical industry.
