About the role

  • Continue building modern financial controlling at Apify that captures all economic transactions and provides actionable reports
  • Lead a team of 3 FTE and build up capacity as necessary
  • Leverage technology (incl. AI) to work smarter
  • Quality and accuracy of financial reports and budgets
  • Quality of financial operations (AP, AR, tax, accounting)
  • Internal controls
  • Monthly financial closings
  • ERP transition + adoption of new productivity tools
  • Productive relationships with business team-leads in the company
  • Monitor day-to-day finance operations and resolve unique, complex inquiries involving cross-functional engagement
  • Manage and apply internal controls to accounts payable & receivables
  • Manage our budgeting framework: budgeting tools and workflows, incl. scope, structure, format, communication, and approvals
  • Organize the team's work and priorities
  • Oversee data consistency in reporting (management, investor, financial, ad-hoc)
  • Leverage the capabilities of our existing tech-stack to improve data quality, automation, and governance
  • Actively seeks new technology and AI to work smarter
  • Monitor business performance (KPI)
  • Consistently apply integral controls and ensure compliance (inputs from tax and accounting)

Requirements

  • You have at least 5 years of experience in financial controlling
  • You have experience with technology (or working for tech startups/scaleups)
  • You have advanced proficiency in reporting, finance operations
  • You have a solid understanding of accounting and tax
  • You are a thinker and a doer in 1 person
  • You can zoom out and resolve unstructured problems
  • You challenge the status quo in a pragmatic way
  • You have an open mind to experiment with AI, automation tools to make your work smarter
  • You can handle fast context switching among multiple agendas and priorities
  • You have advanced proficiency in Czech/Slovak and English
