About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead end-to-end private equity fund accounting across multiple vintages, strategies, and structures
  • Own monthly and quarterly financial close for funds and feeder vehicles
  • Deliver US GAAP/IFRS financial statements, partner capital accounts, and investor-level reporting
  • Oversee capital calls, distributions, true-ups, equalizations, and side-letter economics
  • Coordinate fair-value measurements and waterfall allocations, including carried interest, preferred return, and catch-ups
  • Ensure compliance with AIFMD, Form PF, Annex IV, FATCA/CRS, and local filings
  • Author and enforce accounting policies, playbooks, RACI matrices, and escalation protocols
  • Drive QA/QC reviews, exception management, Lean/Six Sigma initiatives, automation, and standardization
  • Serve as senior point of contact for LPs and address complex investor inquiries
  • Collaborate with Deal Teams, Portfolio Monitoring, Investor Relations, Legal/Compliance, auditors, and administrators
  • Lead onboarding, transitions, change governance, cutover plans, and risk controls
  • Produce dashboards, variance analyses, waterfall summaries, and board/regulatory packs
  • Own the fund-accounting technology roadmap, selection, and optimization
  • Establish standardized data models, golden sources, master-data management, and reconciliation frameworks
  • Implement internal controls, segregation of duties, audit trails, role-based access, cyber-resilience, and data-privacy compliance
  • Build scalable operating models supporting fund launches, multi-currency books, and complex structures
  • Manage and mentor fund controllers and teams across locations and time zones
  • Plan workforce capacity, optimize onshore/offshore mix, and leverage managed services strategically
  • Implement learning paths, certification support, and cross-training programs
  • Promote accountability, continuous learning, psychological safety, and inclusive practices

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s/master’s in accounting or finance
  • 14+ years of experience in private equity fund accounting or alternatives
  • Track record leading multi-fund portfolios and complex structures, including multi-currency, feeder, parallel-fund, and SPV structures
  • Deep knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS and ASC 946/820
  • Expertise in waterfall mechanics, carried interest, fee mechanics, equalizations, and side-letter economics
  • Hands-on fluency with PE accounting platforms such as Investran, Allvue, eFront, Yardi, and Workiva
  • Experience with BI tools such as Power BI and Tableau
  • Experience with workflow automation tools such as RPA, Alteryx, and Anaplan
  • Proven capability to manage global teams, transform processes, and influence senior cross-functional stakeholders
  • Process design, control frameworks, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision-making
  • Ability to translate firm strategy into operating models, technology roadmaps, and staffing plans
  • Executive presence and clear written and verbal communication for LPs, boards, and auditors
  • Strong accounting judgment and proactive operational and regulatory risk management
  • Comfort with ambiguity and accountability for outcomes
  • CPA/ACA preferred
