About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage the design and delivery of transportation projects for local and regional government clients, including roadway, sidewalk, intersection, and multimodal improvements.
- Serve as Project Manager for assigned projects—responsible for scope, schedule, budget, and client coordination.
- Prepare and oversee development of plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E) in accordance with FDOT and local standards.
- Coordinate with public agencies, utility providers, and permitting authorities.
- Conduct and/or oversee traffic analysis, safety studies, and roadway geometry design.
- Provide guidance and technical review for junior engineering staff.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 12+ Years experience in civil or transportation engineering.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Florida.
- Demonstrated experience in project management for municipal or county transportation projects.
- Working knowledge of FDOT standards, the Florida Design Manual (FDM), MUTCD, and local agency design criteria.
- Proficiency with MicroStation / OpenRoads, AutoCAD, or similar design software.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to lead client interactions.
