Backend Engineer

• Design and implement backend services and infrastructure that power our platform's core functionality.
• Build and maintain reliable APIs, service interfaces, and platform tooling to support application needs.
• Collaborate with product and engineering partners to understand system requirements and translate them into robust technical solutions.
• Build systems for media capture, storage, and serving that support high-quality video and imaging workflows.
• Implement observability, error handling, and monitoring to ensure system reliability in production.
• Contribute to the design and evolution of secure, scalable infrastructure that supports high-throughput backend workloads.
• Develop shared GitOps workflows and CI/CD pipelines with progressive delivery patterns (canary rollouts, automated testing).

• Own full cycle recruiting from sourcing to offer across a wide range of roles (technical and non-technical, IC to senior levels)
• Partner closely with hiring managers to align on what “great” looks like and keep searches moving
• Build strong candidate pipelines, especially for hard to fill and technical roles
• Manage interview processes and ensure candidates have a thoughtful, well run experience (we care a lot about the folks who are interested in working with us!)
• Drive offer strategy in partnership with hiring managers and leadership
• Track and analyze funnel metrics, identify bottlenecks, and continuously look to improve time to fill and quality of hire metrics

Full-stack Engineer

• Build and extend batch pipelines using dbt for transformations and Dagster for orchestration, scheduling, and asset-driven lineage.
• Develop and optimize BigQuery data models (dimensional, wide-table, or domain-oriented) to support analytics, experimentation, and reporting use cases.
• Advance real-time streaming capabilities by implementing and maintaining Kafka/PubSub + Flink pipelines, primarily using FlinkSQL, to deliver low-latency datasets and event-derived metrics.
• Design data platform standards: SDLC, naming conventions, modeling patterns, incremental strategies, schema evolution approaches, and best practices for batch + streaming including CI/CD and testing.
• Improve reliability and observability by implementing monitoring, alerting, and SLAs/SLOs for pipelines and data quality.
• Partner with analytics, product, and engineering teams to onboard new data sources, define contracts, and deliver trusted datasets.
• Own platform operations including performance tuning, data quality, cost optimization, and scaling across both warehouse and streaming systems.
• Design a unified serving layer architecture that cleanly exposes consistent, trusted datasets across both batch and streaming systems.
• Establish strong data governance, reliability standards, and observability practices.
