💰 $180,000 - $220,000 per year
About the role
- Lead and grow a hardware engineering team composed of engineers with varying levels of experience.
- Drive rapid development, analysis, and manufacture of hardware units.
- Implement processes that permit us to build right and build fast, balancing speed, quality, and traceability.
- Ensure smooth handoff from design to production, working closely with supply chain and fab/assembly counterparts to guarantee on-time delivery.
- Establish and enforce procedures throughout unit assembly, rework, and test.
- Lead the development of test infrastructure and enforce high standards of quality across hardware builds.
- Maintain close alignment with software teams to ensure hardware promotes smooth HW/SW integration.
- Understand customer CONOPS and ensure designs are built and tested to fulfill mission needs.
- Support troubleshooting and triage of deployed hardware units in the field.
- Collaborate with mechanical and thermal engineers to meet SWaP and reliability constraints.
- Lead and actively participate in design reviews.
- Work closely with the recruiting team and engineering leadership to identify, attract and hire excellent hardware engineers.
Requirements
- Proven experience leading teams that designed, shipped, and supported hardware products at scale.
- Excellent first-principles understanding of electrical engineering concepts.
- Proficiency in Altium or similar ECAD tools.
- Experience deploying products with Xilinx MPSoC or similar high-density FPGAs.
- Ability to rapidly learn and apply RF design fundamentals.
