About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Take full technical ownership and product care of 1-2 key high-complexity PCBAs (e.g., our complex communication switches or Battery Management Systems)
- Drive the PCBA development process from initial architecture and schematics through layout, prototyping, debugging, and production handover
- Strategically review and simplify our current PCBA portfolio across ANYmal product lines to optimize system architecture
- Establish rigorous test specifications and verification protocols to ensure flawless execution during productization
- Collaborate closely with systems engineers and cross-functional teams to integrate electronics seamlessly into the robot
- Champion high-quality engineering standards within the EE team, bringing strong industrial experience to the table
Requirements
What you’ll need- Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a related field with at least 7 years of hands-on experience developing electronics boards for industrial, aerospace, or military applications
- Expert-level proficiency in industry-standard ECAD software (e.g., KiCad, Altium) and simulation tools like SPICE
- Proven track record of layouting your own complex designs with strict creepage, clearance, and isolation constraints for safety-critical applications
- Extensive experience designing for harsh environments, including a strong background in meeting EMI/EMC compliance and functional safety standards
- Deep expertise in debugging, verification, and defining testing specifications for manufacturing production
- Strong proficiency in at least two of the following areas: Battery Management Systems (BMS), power electronics/motor drives, high-speed interfaces (USB, EtherCAT, WiFi), or MCU-based embedded systems
- Highly accountable mindset with the ability to make firm technical decisions and own the outcomes in a dynamic environment.
