About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Performing detailed calculations for greenhouse gas emissions and other environmental metrics, ensuring robustness and consistency.
- Preparing high-quality technical reports, drawing on expertise from across the wider team and the broader organisation.
- Writing proposals for new business, in collaboration with the existing team.
- Be independent in engaging with a wide variety of clients, often in senior roles within their business.
- Attending and, where appropriate, leading client meetings to support project delivery and business development.
- Managing multiple projects and workstreams independently, delivering to tight deadlines with limited supervision.
- Continuously developing technical expertise, supported by senior colleagues, while mentoring and guiding junior team members, including providing training and support where needed.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Location requirement: Applications will only be considered from candidates based in Frankfurt or Munich.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in sustainability, environmental science or business-related disciplines (e.g. economics, finance), ideally with a focus on sustainability or climate.
- Ideally 5+- years of relevant professional experience in climate, ESG, or sustainability consulting.
- Excellent analytical skills, including advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g. modelling, large datasets); experience with other analytics and visualisation tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau) is beneficial.
- Experience with GHG accounting methodologies and frameworks (e.g. PCAF, GHG Protocol, SBTi, ISO), including PCF.
- Strong understanding of key frameworks and regulations (e.g., GHG protocol, SBTi).
- Good understanding of value chains and Scope 3 emissions.
- Strong communication and consulting skills; particularly an understanding of the sustainability challenges that organisations face in today’s climate.
- Excellent project management skills: ensuring projects are delivered on time, to budget and to client expectations.
- Team player with a proactive, ownership-driven mindset.
- Language capabilities: Fluency in German and English (both written and verbal) is strictly required for client delivery.
- Additional language capabilities are preferred to support global and regional engagements.
- Eligibility to work: Applicants must already have the legal right to work in the country of employment.
