About the role
- - Lead and mentor a team of Principals, Senior Consultants, and Consultants, ensuring high performance, technical excellence, and continual development.
- - Set team direction, manage capacity, oversee quality, and create a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
- - Strengthen capability across climate risk assessment, scenario analysis, ASRS/ISSB disclosure, and adaptation/resilience planning.
- - Work closely with the APAC Climate & Nature Director to shape practice strategy, market priorities, and long-term growth plans. Additionally, work with the Global Lead for Risk & Resilience based in the UK to contribute to moving forward our global sales, delivery and capabilities.
- - Drive growth across ASRS/ISSB reporting, climate risk programs, and adaptation and resilience projects, including developing new client relationships and expanding existing accounts.
- - Lead proposal development, commercial scoping, pitch leadership, and negotiation for strategic opportunities across APAC.
- - Identify emerging market needs and co-develop new service offerings that differentiate Anthesis within Australia and APAC.
- - Represent Anthesis in industry forums, conferences, standards dialogues, and thought leadership activities.
- - Act as senior advisor and trusted partner to boards, executives, and senior risk/finance leaders across key sectors.
- - Provide strategic guidance on climate-related risks, governance, controls, disclosure strategy, and resilience pathways.
- - Oversee delivery of climate risk projects, ensuring high-quality outputs, well-managed teams, and delighted clients.
- - Shape and review client deliverables, disclosures, scenario analyses, risk assessments, resilience plans, ensuring technical rigor and strategic clarity.
- - Work closely with the ESG Reporting & Strategy team to deliver integrated ASRS/ISSB programs, including audit and assurance readiness.
- - Serve as a senior technical reviewer and escalation point on climate risk method development, scenario analysis approaches, and disclosure frameworks (ASRS, ISSB, TCFD).
- - Guide clients on aligning climate risk outputs with broader corporate risk frameworks, strategy processes, and financial reporting.
- - Bring familiarity with climate science, climate model interpretation, hazard datasets, and regulatory expectations to support robust delivery.
Requirements
- - 10+ years in climate risk, sustainability, or related advisory fields, with significant experience leading client accounts and delivery teams.
- - Strong technical grounding in physical and transition climate risk assessment, scenario analysis, and climate-related financial disclosures.
- - Demonstrated experience supporting or leading ASRS/ISSB/TCFD-aligned disclosures and associated governance and audit requirements.
- - A strong commercial mindset: comfortable with sales, negotiation, pipeline management, and C-Suite engagement.
- - Leadership experience: managing advisors, building capability, and creating high performing, collaborative teams.
- - Ability to transform complex regulatory or scientific information into clear, strategic recommendations and business relevant insights for senior audiences.
- - Outstanding communication skills, written, verbal, and interpersonal—with a track record of winning work and building long-term client relationships.
- - Relevant academic background in climate science, environmental science, sustainability, risk, engineering, finance, or similar.
- - Eagerness to capacity build, grow, and challenge your team.
- - Experience working in collaboration as part of a wider international team.
- - Australian residency or work visa for at least 2 years.
- **Bonus if you also have:**
- - Experience developing financial models that quantify climate related risks and opportunities into financial impacts across revenue, cost, capital expenditure, asset valuation, and enterprise value.
- - Experience with CMIP6 climate data, physical risk modelling tools, or sector-specific transition pathways including using NGFS and IEA datasets.
- - Familiarity with TNFD or nature-related risk and resilience approaches.
- - Experience working across APAC regulatory contexts (e.g., Australia, Singapore, Philippines, Japan).
