Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution or equivalent Engineering BS degree
  • Professional Engineer License
  • 5+ years of experience in overhead transmission line design and engineering
  • Experience with line and structure spotting
  • Experience with route selection
  • Experience with structure design and analysis
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams to complete transmission line projects
  • Proficiency in PLS-CADD design software and the NESC
  • Ability to travel occasionally and hold a passport
  • Knowledge of PLS-CADD modeling and/or calculations, including structure loading, structure staking, assembly drawings, foundations, material procurement support, construction specifications, methods, support, and cost estimation
  • Broad knowledge of transmission line design principles, industry standards, and codes
  • Ability to develop, follow, interpret, and apply internal, client, and industry procedures and standards
  • Ability to evaluate design alternatives for constructability and design challenges
  • Ability to lead client interactions in office or field environments
  • Excellent communication skills and high emotional intelligence
  • Spanish fluency is a bonus, not required
