About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Prepare and post journal entries across fixed assets, prepaid expenses and accruals, AP, cash, and corporate card activity
- Own month-end reconciliations for assigned balance sheet accounts and resolve variances
- Support the monthly and quarterly close calendar and identify opportunities to compress the timeline
- Manage the AP cycle end-to-end, including invoice coding, approval workflow, and payment runs
- Partner with department heads on accurate expense coding and policy compliance
- Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations
- Own corporate card program reconciliation and enforce T&E policy cross-functionally
- Contribute to the annual external audit, owning assigned GL areas from PBC list through fieldwork
- Build and maintain accounting policies and internal controls documentation
- Identify manual, repetitive workflows and propose automation or system-driven solutions
- Document processes while building accounting infrastructure
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3–5 years of accounting experience
- CPA or CPA-eligible strongly preferred
- Hands-on GL accounting experience across fixed assets, prepaids, AP, and cash
- Experience participating in a system implementation or migration is a strong plus
- Comfortable working in ambiguity in a small, fast-evolving team
- Detail-oriented with a systems mindset
- Curiosity about AI tools and their impact on accounting workflows
- Familiarity with accounting systems such as Campfire ERP and Ramp
- Must be local to San Francisco for the in-person role
- Legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer
