About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support highway construction and improvement projects through contract management, including compiling, reviewing, updating, and maintaining solicitations and contracts for capital improvement program, equipment purchases, materials, and professional contracted services
  • Monitor payroll records on prevailing wage to ensure compliance and report to county, state, and federal agencies
  • Monitor and track project budgets throughout the design and construction phases, maintaining accurate budget data and cost tracking within project budget spreadsheet
  • Maintain joint powers agreements and consultant invoices with associated stakeholders as applicable
  • Provide advice and assistance on bid process, contracts, agreements, solicitation documents processes and procedures
  • Facilitate negotiations and coordination with suppliers and subcontractors
  • Track, monitor, and report on contract, grant, and agreement process and workflow as well as potential risk exposure relative to compliance, as directed
  • Coordinate, process, and track change orders and supplemental agreements
  • Submits Delegated Contract Process (DCP) requests to State and Federal Aid for reimbursement
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Requires a bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of job-related experience
  • In lieu of the required education, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis
  • Successfully pass driver’s license background check
  • Knowledge of contract documents and legal specifications
  • Knowledge of State and Federal Aid payments
  • Ability to analyze and problem solve
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial data and prepare financial reports
