About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform various duties, such as annual Anoka County budget preparations
- Oversee financial resources and allocation of funds
- Prepare budget analysis and reports
- Monitor spending and create cost-benefits analyses
- Review budget proposals to ensure completeness, accuracy and compliance with County policies
- Evaluate funding requests and provide funding recommendations
- Prepare complex budget reports and analyses
- Administer Anoka County’s performance measurements
- Explain budget and financial policies and procedures to leaders and finance team
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree
- Four years (2,080 annual hours) of job-related experience in finance, budget analysis, or a closely related field
- In lieu of the required education, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis
- Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or related field (preferred)
- Six years (2,080 annual hours) or more of job-related experience in finance, budget analysis, or a closely related field (preferred)
- Possess a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or Certified Public Finance Officer (CPFO) designation (preferred)
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
