About the role
- The Network and Systems Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining the organization's Network and Systems Infrastructure.
- Primary focus will be the network infrastructure while providing backup and additional assistance to the systems engineer as needed.
- Ensure network availability, performance, and security by proactively monitoring, maintaining, and improving core network services.
- Provide support of systems through troubleshooting and resolving hardware/software, and connectivity problems.
- Perform Active Directory administration tasks (ex: user/group, security permissions, group policies).
- Patch, install and config application software, virtual environment and server/host devices.
- Utilize scripting and other automation tools to eliminate manual tasks where possible.
- Provide Tier 2/3 escalation support for network and system-related issues.
- Assist the help desk and other teams with troubleshooting to identify root cause, and provide technical support when needed.
- Maintain regular system backups and disaster recovery readiness for critical infrastructure.
- Recommend and implement network and system improvements to align with organizational goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience in network administration within a medium-sized or multi-site organization.
- 2+ years of experience in systems administration within a medium-sized or multi-site organization
- Hands-on experience with firewalls, switches, routers, VPN technologies, and network monitoring tools.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and VPNs required.
- Experience with Microsoft server, Microsoft 365, Windows Active Directory, and PowerShell required
