About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Actively monitor live CCTV camera networks and video walls to detect suspicious behavior, unauthorized entry, or safety hazards
  • Monitor automated building management, fire alarm, and intrusion detection panels
  • Conduct routine system health checks to ensure cameras, sensors, and communication channels are fully functional
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for incoming emergency calls and duress alarms
  • Evaluate alarms and distinguish false alerts from actual security breaches
  • Dispatch on-site security officers, mobile patrols, or technicians as required
  • Coordinate with law enforcement, fire departments, and medical services during critical incidents
  • Manage electronic access control systems, including gates, turnstiles, and secure doors
  • Verify identities and grant entry to employees, visitors, and vendors
  • Program, issue, and revoke digital access badges and visitor passes
  • Maintain a chronological digital log of shift activities, system events, and alarms
  • Draft incident reports detailing security breaches or medical emergencies
  • Archive and retrieve video footage for investigations or law enforcement requests
  • Review and complete badge requests and answer incoming calls to the SOC

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a security control room, dispatch center, or high-security corporate environment
  • Experience as a law enforcement Officer is also a consideration
  • Excellent verbal communication
  • Ability to multitask effectively in a team environment
  • Associate’s degree in Criminal Justice or a related field is favorable, but not required
