Team Leader – Collections

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Leading, coaching and developing a high-performing Collections team
- Driving team performance, maximising recoveries and minimising losses
- Setting clear expectations and holding the team accountable to agreed standards, KPIs and behaviours
- Working with the Head of Collections and Collections & Recoveries Manager to implement strategies aligned to business goals
- Acting as the first point of contact for team escalations, complex matters and business queries
- Identifying capability gaps and delivering practical training, coaching and support
- Conducting regular QA, account and activity reviews to ensure quality, compliance and consistency
- Using data, reporting and performance insights to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities
- Supporting change, transformation and continuous improvement across Collections
- Building a team culture focused on performance, accountability, quality and development
Requirements
What you’ll need- Proven experience leading and developing high-performing teams
- A strong track record in collections performance, in financial services, asset finance or a similar environment is ideal
- Confidence managing performance, giving feedback and lifting team capability
- Strong communication, coaching and stakeholder management skills
- The ability to use data and insights to make sound decisions and improve outcomes
- Experience supporting change, growth, transformation or process improvement
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage escalations calmly and commercially
- Adaptability in a fast-paced, agile and performance-focused environment
- A practical, hands-on leadership style with high standards and strong follow-through
