About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Leading, coaching and developing a high-performing Collections team
  • Driving team performance, maximising recoveries and minimising losses
  • Setting clear expectations and holding the team accountable to agreed standards, KPIs and behaviours
  • Working with the Head of Collections and Collections & Recoveries Manager to implement strategies aligned to business goals
  • Acting as the first point of contact for team escalations, complex matters and business queries
  • Identifying capability gaps and delivering practical training, coaching and support
  • Conducting regular QA, account and activity reviews to ensure quality, compliance and consistency
  • Using data, reporting and performance insights to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities
  • Supporting change, transformation and continuous improvement across Collections
  • Building a team culture focused on performance, accountability, quality and development

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Proven experience leading and developing high-performing teams
  • A strong track record in collections performance, in financial services, asset finance or a similar environment is ideal
  • Confidence managing performance, giving feedback and lifting team capability
  • Strong communication, coaching and stakeholder management skills
  • The ability to use data and insights to make sound decisions and improve outcomes
  • Experience supporting change, growth, transformation or process improvement
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage escalations calmly and commercially
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced, agile and performance-focused environment
  • A practical, hands-on leadership style with high standards and strong follow-through
