About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- As Category Manager FMCG, you take ownership of your product categories and continuously develop the assortment through data-driven decisions as well as a strong sense for market trends and customer needs.
- Category development: Independently manage and advance your FMCG categories in e-commerce.
- Assortment management: Identify new products, brands and opportunities and select appropriate items using modern analysis tools.
- Product management: List new products and maintain product and assortment data to ensure smooth operational execution.
- Supplier management: Lead pricing and contract negotiations and expand long-term partnerships with manufacturers and suppliers.
- Inventory control: Responsible for ordering and ensuring optimal product availability together with internal stakeholders.
- Performance analysis: Analyze sales, margin, pricing, competition and assortment performance to continuously optimize the categories.
- Market monitoring: Monitor market trends and consumer behavior and derive new assortment and growth opportunities.
Requirements
What you’ll need- At least 3 years of professional experience in purchasing, category management, product management, assortment management or a comparable commercial function.
- Experience with FMCG or in a retail/trade environment and a good understanding of consumer goods markets.
- Experience in e-commerce.
- A strong sense for products, brands, trends, pricing, customer needs and commercial potential.
- Understanding of how FMCG assortments are evaluated, listed, ordered and managed in online retail.
- Analytical mindset and a confident handling of sales, margin, pricing and performance data.
- Structured, careful and independent working style – also for operational tasks such as listings, ordering and data maintenance.
- Strong communication skills and enjoyment of collaborating with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Fluent German and very good English skills.
