About the role
- Conduct research on available AI, optical, laser, and sensor technologies applicable to real-time quality inspection and machine performance monitoring
- Evaluate feasibility, practicality, and potential benefits of implementing these technologies in a manufacturing environment
- Prototype a system for optical analysis of drilling and grooving quality using high-resolution camera feeds
- Investigate sensor-based data collection (vibration, thermal, humidity) and explore AI-driven methods for performance trend analysis
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to define key variables and data gaps in current machining processes
- Document findings and propose next steps for technology integration and long-term system development
Requirements
- Pursuing a degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related technical field
- Well-developed interpersonal skills
- The ability to communicate effectively on various levels, verbally and in writing is essential
- Must be able to work independently and within a group
- Proficiency in data collection and analysis (Excel, statistical tools, etc.)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with machine learning, computer vision, and sensor technologies
- Experience with Python, MATLAB, or similar tools for data analysis and prototyping
