About the role
- Optimization of hydro generator mechanical design, for proposals, contracts and studies;
- Analysis of mechanical components, using in-house tools or developing calculations as necessary;
- Documentation for proposals, technical reports and customer O&M manuals;
- Review and approval of mechanical drawings to ensure contractual and internal requirements are met;
- Creation of engineering instructions that define technical requirements for manufacturing , installation and testing;
- Disposition of non-conformances during manufacturing and installation;
- Review and analysis of site data and testing;
- Creation and calibration of design tools;
- Work on R&D projects for development of new generator technologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering
- Existing or potential for Professional Engineer registration
- Familiar with MathCAD & Excel
- Computer skills in common PC applications
- Excellent problem solving skills, sound judgment, initiative & creativity
- Ability to work with people in a team environment
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to travel & work with various cultures
