About the role
- The Project Engineer acts as the bridge between engineering and project management, leading overall technical activities with the Engineering, Procurement, and Installation teams;
- Ensures effective communication between the engineering, installation and project controls groups;
- Organizes and facilitates internal technical activity and design review meetings;
- Ensures stakeholders correctly interpret technical specifications and expectations;
- Defines the technical strategy and the supply/delivery plan in cooperation with the responsible Project Manager and the Procurement department;
- Coordinates all technical documentation;
- Participates in the selection, negotiation and technical discussions with key suppliers and subcontractors;
- Responsible for ensuring that engineering deliverables and procurement deliveries are completed on time and meet established quality criteria for all systems related to their projects;
- In collaboration with the Project Director, analyzes, defines and implements a contingency plan to correct any anomalies or deviations that could impact their projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Registered member of the OIQ (Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec)
- Experience in hydropower, power generation equipment, or related manufacturing sectors
- Proven experience and leadership in technical coordination of engineering activities and subcontracting
- Proven verbal and written communication skills in French and English
