About the role
- Program CNC machining centers, defining operation sequences, cutting parameters, EDM parameters for parts, safety zones for operations, distances between machine zero and part zero, and types of tools for machining
- Perform program backups
- Transfer completed programs to CNC machines
- Evaluate and select cutting tool types for each operation
- Monitor shop-floor activities to identify opportunities for improvements and to optimize machine programs
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor
Requirements
- High school diploma (required)
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics (preferred)
- Knowledge of CNC programming languages (e.g., G-code)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Proficiency with CAD software: Autodesk, Inventor and NX
- Experience with machines such as vertical lathe, horizontal lathe, boring machine and large gantry milling machines
