About the role
- Electrical engineering of the protection/control/automation system
- Developing the engineering plan in collaboration with the project manager
- Executing project engineering with the support of the technical team (technicians, project engineers, engineers)
- Coordinating and monitoring progress with the technical team and the project manager
- Reviewing and stamping drawings and technical documents produced under your supervision
- Participating in design review meetings with the client
- Supervising the documents required for cabinet manufacturing
- Preparing and documenting system testing and validation procedures
- Participating in and supervising factory tests with the client
- Monitoring progress and supporting the electrical commissioning team
- Participating in and supervising final on-site tests during system re-commissioning
- Mentoring junior engineers on other projects
- Participating in bid preparation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering/Automation (member of the OIQ)
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in electrical design for protection/control/automation systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in French and English
- Leadership and mentoring qualities, while being a team player
- Experience in hydroelectric power generation, an asset
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proven ability to analyse and solve technical problems
- Practical knowledge of AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical, Vault AutoDesk an asset
- Practical knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Availability for on-site commissioning as required.
