About the role
- Electrical engineering of protection/control/automation systems.
- Developing the engineering plan in collaboration with the project manager.
- Carrying out project engineering with the support of the technical team (technicians, CPI, engineers).
- Coordinating and monitoring progress with the technical team and the project manager.
- Reviewing and sealing drawings and technical documents produced under your supervision.
- Participating in design review meetings with the client.
- Overseeing documentation required for the fabrication of control cabinets.
- Preparing and documenting test and system validation procedures.
- Participating in and supervising factory tests (FAT) with the client.
- Monitoring progress and providing support to the electrical commissioning team.
- Participating in and supervising final on-site testing during recommissioning.
- Mentoring junior engineers on other projects.
- Participating in tender/bid processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering/Automation (licensed member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec – OIQ).
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in electrical design of protection/control/automation systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in French and English.
- Strong leadership and mentoring qualities while working collaboratively in a team.
- Experience in hydroelectric power production is an asset.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve technical problems.
- Hands-on knowledge of AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, and Autodesk Vault is an asset.
- Practical knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
- Available for on-site commissioning as required.
