About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage all aspects of several major projects or programs of related projects to ensure alignment with strategic objectives
  • Understand, respect, and address interdependencies between technology, operations, and business needs; prioritize efforts in coordination with management
  • Identify and request staffing needs for project teams of 5–25 members in coordination with resources and managers
  • Develop trusted advisor relationships with project and program leaders/stakeholders
  • Provide clear and concise status reporting of milestones, deliverables, dependencies, decisions, risks, and issues to various audiences, including leadership
  • Collaborate with project teams to identify and analyze impacts of changes to business requirements and scope; communicate and plan for approved project change orders
  • Monitor, track, and control outcomes to resolve issues, conflicts, dependencies, and critical path deliverables
  • Manage risk & quality as it impacts projects, including implications to clients and internal teams
  • Provide leadership by motivating and guiding team members to meet goals and adhere to responsibilities and milestones
  • Ensure adherence to the SDLC from discovery/initiation through implementation
  • Maintain a client-service approach and uphold company values
  • Ensure consistent use of project management standards, templates, and documentation
  • Facilitate cross-departmental collaboration to remove roadblocks and maintain project momentum
  • Partner with product, engineering, and operations to ensure alignment on priorities, timelines, and resource allocation

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
  • At least five (5) years of technical project management experience
  • At least two (2) years of program management experience preferred
  • Certification as professional Project Manager (PMP) preferred
  • Hands-on project management experience on large, complex, and interdependent initiatives
  • Proven experience managing software implementation and development projects/programs in a SaaS environment
  • Advanced understanding of project and program management practices and methodologies
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft project management tools such as MS Project, Teams, SharePoint, and Excel for planning, collaboration, documentation, and reporting
  • Strong understanding of the life and annuity space, including products, policy administration processes, and regulatory considerations
  • Demonstrated expertise in Jira and Confluence, with advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint for analysis, reporting, and executive-level presentations
  • Essential Skills: Strong leadership, diplomatic and motivational skills including the ability to lead up, across and down multiple departments.
