About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage all aspects of several major projects or programs of related projects to ensure alignment with strategic objectives
- Understand, respect, and address interdependencies between technology, operations, and business needs; prioritize efforts in coordination with management
- Identify and request staffing needs for project teams of 5–25 members in coordination with resources and managers
- Develop trusted advisor relationships with project and program leaders/stakeholders
- Provide clear and concise status reporting of milestones, deliverables, dependencies, decisions, risks, and issues to various audiences, including leadership
- Collaborate with project teams to identify and analyze impacts of changes to business requirements and scope; communicate and plan for approved project change orders
- Monitor, track, and control outcomes to resolve issues, conflicts, dependencies, and critical path deliverables
- Manage risk & quality as it impacts projects, including implications to clients and internal teams
- Provide leadership by motivating and guiding team members to meet goals and adhere to responsibilities and milestones
- Ensure adherence to the SDLC from discovery/initiation through implementation
- Maintain a client-service approach and uphold company values
- Ensure consistent use of project management standards, templates, and documentation
- Facilitate cross-departmental collaboration to remove roadblocks and maintain project momentum
- Partner with product, engineering, and operations to ensure alignment on priorities, timelines, and resource allocation
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
- At least five (5) years of technical project management experience
- At least two (2) years of program management experience preferred
- Certification as professional Project Manager (PMP) preferred
- Hands-on project management experience on large, complex, and interdependent initiatives
- Proven experience managing software implementation and development projects/programs in a SaaS environment
- Advanced understanding of project and program management practices and methodologies
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft project management tools such as MS Project, Teams, SharePoint, and Excel for planning, collaboration, documentation, and reporting
- Strong understanding of the life and annuity space, including products, policy administration processes, and regulatory considerations
- Demonstrated expertise in Jira and Confluence, with advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint for analysis, reporting, and executive-level presentations
- Essential Skills: Strong leadership, diplomatic and motivational skills including the ability to lead up, across and down multiple departments.
