About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support project teams on the successful commercialization and start-up of new equipment and processes.
- Partner with operations, RD&I, quality, maintenance, and supply chain functions to drive improvements
- Interface with design, product engineering, supply chain, and other business partners on the design for manufacturability and process capability of new products or product extensions.
- Provide informed recommendations regarding the viability of developed design solutions that relate to new or current processes.
- Participate/facilitate cross-functional team meetings, kaizens, and Process System Design events.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of DMAIC tools: Process mapping, process capability, C&E Matrix, fishbone diagram, FMEA, MSA, DOE, Control Plans.
- Develop specifications to procure production equipment and/or complete production lines.
- Partner with the Safety group to ensure all new or modified processes meet or exceed corporate safety requirements.
- Create training tools, documents and standard operating procedures for production processes ensuring consistent manufacturability.
- Introduce new perspectives on existing solutions to continuously improve production and material flow processes.
- Work independently within areas of responsibility on small projects or in coordination with others over portions of larger projects.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 4-year degree in Engineering or Technology required
- Minimum of 3 years of engineering experience preferred with mechanical aptitude
- Equipment procurement and capital project experience required
- Project management skills
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles
- Knowledge of quality systems, SPC and process capability
- Positive attitude with a desire to build relationships and serve both our internal and external customers
- Strong, proactive communicator, effective both 1:1 and in groups
- Knowledge of 2D & 3D solid modeling preferred (AutoCad/Inventor)
