About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Reporting to the Director of Education, the CDL Program Director is responsible for providing leadership for the CDL Program.
Provides subject matter expertise and actively participates in curriculum development, revision, and implementation process.
Provides product knowledge training to the campus leadership and Admissions team.
Engages with potential students and actively participates in new student orientation.
Responsible for hiring, assigning, orienting, developing, evaluating, and recognizing Driver Trainers within the program(s) of study.
Convene meetings with faculty on a regular basis.
Monitors and supports the student population within his/her program of study.
Plays an active role in student advising process, including advising students during the provisional period and meeting with students who initiate a complaint.
Analyzes student population data and identifies students who may be at risk, providing support and information concerning student services.
Responsible for continuous improvement of the program and data collection for purposes of analyzing program performance.

Requirements

What you’ll need

High school diploma or GED.
CDL License
3 years of experience in academic instruction in a post-secondary environment.
5 years of industry experience in the field of instruction - CDL Driving
2 years of experience in a management or supervisory role.
Ability to qualify as a CDL Driver/Driver Trainer.
Knowledge regarding faculty development, including requirements, delivery methods, and reporting.
Motivation, dedication, professionalism, integrity, and enthusiasm for teaching.
Ability to show sensitivity to the needs and requirements of adult learners.
Ability and desire to embrace the school’s mission.
Ability to inspire students to the highest level of achievement in preparation for meeting employer expectations.
Knowledge of industry standards and requirements within the field of instruction.
Knowledge of and ability to facilitate learning on course content within the field of instruction.
Excellent organizational skills.
Knowledge of the Google Suite and database programs (CampusNexus preferred).
Ability to develop and use collaborative relationships for the purpose of accomplishing work objectives; developing relationships with other individuals by listening, sharing ideas, and appreciating others' efforts.
Appropriate verbal and written communication skills.
Interpersonal relationship skills necessary for positive interactions with students, alumni, faculty, and employers.
Excellent creative and problem solving skills in dealing with students, alumni, employers, faculty, and staff.
Ability to meet and/or exceed defined goals.
Excellent presentation skills and ability to present ideas effectively to individuals or groups in a formal setting.
Management skills in planning, organizing, controlling and evaluating programs and policies in a dynamic and changing environment.
Knowledge of the federal Department of Education, state, local and accreditation standards.
