About the role
- Serve as a supporting, and ultimately leading, engineer for the types of project described above.
- Lead engineering planning and design efforts including, but not limited to, concept designs, alternative studies, basis of design requirements, construction drawings, technical reports and specifications, and construction cost estimates
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers
- Develop client relationships through direct involvement and coordination with client’s project manager and/or technical staff
- Active participation in business development initiatives, including participation, and ultimately leadership in devising business development outreach strategies, formulation of competitive proposals, developing scopes of work and budget estimates, and project management.
- Analyze complex problems and develop cost-efficient and value-engineered solutions
- Lead the preparation and coordination of project deliverables including construction documents
- Ensure that work products are prepared in accordance with Anchor QEA’s quality management program
- Ability to travel for field site visits and project meetings, mostly in California, but potentially in various US locations as well
Requirements
- BS or MS degree in relevant field (e.g., Civil, Environmental, Coastal, or similar field of engineering)
- 10-15 years of experience
- Understanding the application of engineering principles for engineering design, including cost estimating, and development of plans and specifications
- Experience in project and program management including developing and managing scopes, detailed schedules, budgets, and sub-consultants
- Proficiency in MS Office
- AutoCAD Civil 3D experience a plus
- Critical thinking and strong problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A California Professional Engineering (PE) license or ability to obtain one within one year
- 40-hour HAZWOPER certification (preferred; will be provided by Anchor QEA upon hire if not certified)
