About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Advise the procurement team and lead negotiations for vendor and supplier contracts supporting technology, laboratory, and data operations
- Draft, review, and negotiate SaaS, technology license, master services, marketing, and professional services agreements
- Draft and negotiate Data Processing Agreements and security addenda with the privacy team
- Provide legal guidance on contract interpretation, risk mitigation, and compliance
- Partner with cross-functional teams to align contractual terms with company policies and objectives
- Develop AI-enabled legal playbooks, contract templates, and internal policies
- Monitor legal and regulatory changes affecting commercial and corporate activities, especially privacy and data security
- Support senior legal leadership on strategic transactions, corporate governance, and corporate development initiatives
- Use AI for contract review, drafting, legal research, and analysis
- Champion, select, build, test, and refine legal AI tools and workflows
Requirements
What you’ll need- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school with strong academic performance
- Active membership in good standing of at least one U.S. state bar
- 5+ years of relevant experience focused on technology transactions and complex commercial agreements
- In-house experience at a technology or data-driven company
- Ability to independently negotiate complex procurement, vendor, supplier, and technology agreements globally
- Deep knowledge of GDPR and CCPA/CPRA
- Hands-on experience negotiating Data Processing Agreements
- Demonstrated, hands-on proficiency using AI in daily legal work, including drafting, review, research, and analysis
- Fluency with legal technology and CLM systems
- Experience negotiating agreements involving AI and machine learning
- Exceptional drafting and negotiation skills
- Strong business judgment and excellent communication abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
- CIPP/US certification highly preferred; CIPP/E or other international certifications a plus
- Experience at a top-tier law firm preferred
- Experience building prompts, workflows, automations, or AI/CLM tooling is a strong plus
