About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead research projects specializing in the U.S. Mid-South and South
Identify and access research resources effectively
Produce research logs, reports, and client updates
Manage 30-60 client projects, defining scope and budget
Ensure project deliverables meet standards and expectations
Maintain an average of 5.5 billable hours per day
Give and receive feedback, updating clients regularly
Supervise accuracy and efficiency of research
Conduct regular team meetings and available for consults

Requirements

What you’ll need

Minimum 5 years’ experience with professional genealogical research
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in History, English, or comparable experience
Experience in general U.S. research, specializing in mid-south and southern states
Proficient in DNA test results application to genealogical research problems
Advanced expertise in brick wall research methodologies and evidence analysis
Experience managing multiple projects
Experience with completing research journals/logs, citations, record abstracts, academic research reports, and research plans
Experience communicating with clients, setting expectations, and resolving issues
Experience in a collaborative team environment and providing feedback and coaching
