About the role

  • Transform client needs and challenges into persuasive design solutions with consultative presentations
  • Identify and communicate design problems and propose creative, user- and business-focused solutions
  • Apply expert knowledge of design principles, typography, color theory, and conversion rate optimization
  • Utilize qualitative and quantitative research methods to inform design recommendations
  • Incorporate motion graphics, animation, and email marketing design where applicable
  • Articulate and negotiate design decisions with clients
  • Manage design deliverables, including maintaining design systems and component libraries
  • Participate actively in sprint ceremonies, prioritize tasks, and manage timelines across multiple projects
  • Coordinate design hand-offs to development and quality assurance teams and support implementation
  • Provide timely updates via project management tools and communicate effectively across teams
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a small team of designers, including hiring, onboarding, and performance reviews
  • Facilitate brainstorming sessions, workshops, and collaboration across disciplines
  • Support project managers with design-related queries and estimations
  • Demonstrate professionalism in meetings and communications, including punctuality, preparedness, and etiquette.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant design experience with at least 2 years focused on e-commerce website design
  • Expert proficiency in Figma, Sketch and Adobe XD; intermediate skills in Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Strong understanding of UX design, responsive and accessible design, CRO, and Shopify platform standards
  • Experience building and maintaining design systems and component libraries
  • Intermediate knowledge of motion graphics, animation, and email marketing campaigns
  • Proven leadership skills in managing design team members, mentoring, and delegating work
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to present to clients and internal leadership
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and sprint workflows is a plus
  • Experience working collaboratively with developers, UX researchers, and content strategists.
