About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Collect, clean, and prepare datasets for computational models using Python
  • Apply NLP preprocessing methods including stop word removal, stemming, lemmatization, and tokenization
  • Perform NLP feature engineering and attribute evaluation using TF-IDF, word2vec, GloVe, and FastText
  • Select classification and other modeling techniques for business problems
  • Apply supervised and unsupervised machine learning, regression, neural networks, deep learning, and NLP techniques
  • Investigate, report, and justify model results
  • Present modeling results and insights and explain their relevance to organizational business challenges
  • Support long-term federal client engagement projects in the DC Metro area
  • Coordinate and maintain user stories

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master's degree required in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or similar
  • At least four years of experience developing scalable, production-ready NLP solutions
  • High degree of experience using SAS, R, or Python for NLP use cases
  • Experience with scikit-learn, Keras, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Spark NLP
  • Experience using Git/GitHub for source-code version control
  • Experience leveraging transformer architecture to develop NLP models
  • Experience with open-source NLP packages such as Gensim, spaCy, or NLTK
  • Experience with BERT, GPT-J, RoBERTa, T5, or other transformers
  • Experience working in an AWS cloud environment and with services such as Bedrock and Textract
  • Experience coordinating and maintaining user stories
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance
  • PhD in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or similar preferred
  • Experience with GenAI and prompt engineering is a plus
  • Experience with Databricks and MLflow is a plus
  • Experience with machine translation and transcription of foreign-language documents using Microsoft Azure translation services is a plus
