About the role

  • Design, build, and operate scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure on AWS, spanning compute, networking, storage, and managed container platforms (EKS, ECS, Fargate).
  • Architect and run containerized workloads using Amazon EKS and/or Amazon ECS, including autoscaling, service discovery, and deployment strategies such as blue/green, canary, and rolling updates.
  • Define and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform, CloudFormation, and/or AWS CDK to ensure consistent, repeatable provisioning across environments.
  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, deployment, and release processes, enabling safe and frequent delivery.
  • Automate operational workflows and system configuration to improve reliability, reduce toil, and minimize manual intervention.
  • Partner closely with application development teams to containerize services and ensure seamless integration with AWS cloud services.
  • Implement and operate monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions (e.g., CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana) to ensure system health, performance, and operational readiness.
  • Embed security and compliance best practices into cloud infrastructure, including IAM design, secrets management, network segmentation, and adherence to enterprise security frameworks.
  • Manage and govern multi-account AWS environments using AWS Organizations and Control Tower, enforcing guardrails and best practices at scale.
  • Create and maintain clear, accurate documentation for cloud architectures, infrastructure, and operational processes.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship on cloud and DevOps best practices.
  • Drive reliability, performance, and cost-optimization initiatives across AWS environments.
  • Participate in architectural reviews and influence cloud standards and patterns.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
  • 5+ years of proven experience as a Cloud or DevOps Engineer with deep, hands-on AWS expertise.
  • Strong knowledge of core AWS services across compute, networking, storage, and containers, including EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, Lambda, EKS/ECS, ECR, and ALB.
  • Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
  • Proficiency with IaC tools, with Terraform preferred; experience with CloudFormation and/or AWS CDK is a plus.
  • Experience designing and operating CI/CD pipelines using tools such as AWS CodePipeline, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language such as Python, Bash, or Go.
  • Strong familiarity with Git-based version control workflows.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, clear and effective communication skills, and the ability to collaborate across teams in a fast-paced, engineering-driven environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently and take ownership of cloud infrastructure in production environments.
  • Experience influencing cloud and DevOps best practices across teams or projects.
  • Comfort working in environments with security, compliance, and operational requirements.
