About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead end-to-end Atlassian Cloud migration engagements for enterprise customers, from assessment and planning through execution and stabilization.
Design migration strategies for Jira and Confluence using tools such as Jira Cloud Migration Assistant (JCMA) and Confluence Cloud Migration Assistant (CCMA).
Assess complex Atlassian environments, including Jira Software, Jira Service Management, Confluence, Bitbucket, and Marketplace apps and custom configurations, workflows, permissions, automations, and integrations.
Analyze and rationalize apps, customizations, and integrations as part of cloud readiness.
Leverage strong SQL and data analysis skills to validate data integrity, migration outcomes, and reporting accuracy.
Assess and redesign integrations to cloud-native patterns using REST APIs, webhooks, and automation.
Communicate migration risks, tradeoffs, and progress clearly to both technical teams and executive stakeholders.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Proven experience leading enterprise Atlassian Cloud migrations.
Deep hands-on experience with Jira Cloud Migration Assistant (JCMA) and Confluence Cloud Migration Assistant (CCMA).
Strong expertise in Atlassian products, including Jira and Confluence administration and configuration.
Strong experience with scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash, Java), and the use of lightweight data tooling (e.g., SQLite3, Postgres) for data manipulation.
Deep understanding of networking protocols and tools such as HTTP, ssh, DNS, security certs.
Familiarity with identity provider platforms (IDP’s) such as Entra and Okta.
Experience working with large-scale Jira and Confluence instances (high user counts, large datasets, complex configurations).
Proven experience as a regular user of generative AI tools (such as Open AI, Anthropic, Google or comparable platforms) and a positive belief in their ability to augment human capability and meaningfully improve how work is performed.
Atlassian Certified Professional or Associate certifications and experience with Atlassian Cloud governance, security, and compliance considerations preferred.
Experience rationalizing Marketplace apps and customizations during cloud migrations.
Background working with regulated or compliance-heavy environments (e.g., public sector, healthcare, life sciences, aerospace and defense).
Experience supporting hybrid or phased cloud migration strategies.
