About the role

  • Responsible for coordinating and executing the accounting workstreams related to month end close processes ensuring accurate revenue recognition compliant with GAAP.
  • Report to the Senior Director of Revenue Recognition and involve collaboration with other departments.
  • Perform month end, quarter-end and year-end close procedures for revenue accounts.
  • Liaison between other departments including but not limited to Legal, HPR, and AMSURG Central Billing Office (CBO).
  • Perform monthly revenue related analysis and assist with accounts receivable review and research.
  • Complete reconciliations to ensure accuracy of monthly revenue accruals.
  • Monitor central billing office access to accounting applications.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, and at least 1 year of accounting revenue recognition experience.
  • CPA eligibility is required, with the expectation that the certification will be obtained within 2 years of the start date.
  • Experience applying the provisions of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Advanced knowledge and ability to use window office suite programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.);
  • Ability to understand insurance payer contracts and determine the accounting treatment and financial impact.
  • Smartsheet & IBM Planning & Analytics experience is a plus but not required.
  • Oracle or Oracle Fusion experience is a plus but not required.
  • Ability to understand, read, write, and speak English.
