Ensure all programs, activities, and services needed to fulfill the Annual Workplan of the assigned association are performed to meet AMR’s contractual obligations
Support the Board and volunteer leaders in fulfilling their responsibilities in leading the association
Forecast conditions, assesses member needs, and allocates resources appropriately
Develop annual and long-range strategic goals and lead efforts to execute and meet strategic goals
Inform manager and/or client leadership of matters or developments that warrant attention
Serve as the main point of contact between the AMR client team and Board
Manage staff resources allocated to association(s) and monitor budgeted time vs. actual
Oversee the development of the annual workplan in accordance with AMR procedures and timelines
Identify and recommend services to expand the scope of work for the association and AMR
Develop, follow, and maintain association(s) policy and operating procedures
Conduct quarterly feedback and development conversations with direct reports
Serve as a mentor and coach to AMR team members – direct reports and indirect reports assigned to the client(s)
Remain current on best practices and standards in the association industry and the marketplace
Provide regular client updates to Board and AMR Executive Team
Manage projects and facilitate team communication with the utilization of Basecamp
File annual report with Secretary of State’s office
Collaborate with internal team members and with the client to ensure successful events
Develop annual budget for internal and external review and input
Analyze monthly finance report and prepare summary memo
Ensure all revenues and expenses are in alignment with established budgets, noting variances when needed
Provide requested information to support 990 tax return and audit/financial review
Monitor investment balances and make recommendations, as needed, in alignment with the association’s investment policy
Develop and maintain positive relationships externally between AMR and Board, between the association and key stakeholders, between the account team and shared services and with association leadership and members
Draft and send business communications to the Board, members, stakeholders, etc., as needed
Identify and support efforts to create value for members, sponsors, etc.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Management, or related field of study preferred
5+ years of association management experience, with at least three years in Deputy Director or Executive Director position
Prior Medical Association experience a plus
Demonstrated success in overall management of a membership-based organization
CAE certification a plus
Attention to detail, balanced with big-picture perspective; ability to prioritize and deliver multiple objectives simultaneously
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including strong oral and written communication skills
Self-motivated to find and offer solutions to problems
Leadership and management skills
Knowledge of leadership and management principles related to nonprofits including those specific to association management companies
Proven success working with a board of directors
Creative problem-solving and continuous improvement skills

Proficient in Microsoft 365/SharePoint
Experience working in a remote setting and managing remote teams and staff
Flexibility to accommodate the schedules of association leaders
Availability for regular evening and weekend meetings and occasional travel for conferences and board events
