About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develops and manages relationships with existing and prospective business members to drive new business, retain existing relationships, and grow commercial loan and deposit portfolios, with a focus on spec home and residential development lending.
- Maintains and manages a portfolio of business relationships to achieve production goals, deliver an exceptional member experience, and identify cross-sell opportunities while ensuring portfolio quality and soundness.
- Leads and participates in business development efforts through member engagement, community involvement, and industry partnerships, including collaboration with third-party vendors to support business services.
- Evaluates, structures, and processes commercial loan requests by interviewing applicants, analyzing financials, credit and collateral, and coordinating with credit analysts to assess risk and feasibility.
- Ensure all lending activities comply with internal policies and applicable NCUA and Texas regulations, utilizing risk analysis and credit review processes to monitor loan quality.
- Provides financial guidance and advisory support to business members and prospective clients based on a strong understanding of market conditions, economic trends, and industry performance.
- Manages post-closing responsibilities, including site visits, collateral inspections, and ongoing monitoring, and supports collection efforts in partnership with Account Resolutions as needed.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Direct industry experience lending to Spec-House Builders or Residential Developers.
- Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of three years credit union or other financial industry experience.
- Extensive knowledge and proven track record of commercial lending.
- Must be bondable.
- Be efficient with the use of a personal computer, Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), Credit Bureau Systems and financial calculators.
- Must have reliable internet access of 50MBPS which is the minimum speed required to connect to several of our systems and platforms.
