About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Partner with our contract manufacturer to ensure Ampd products are manufactured to our quality standards.
- Collaborate closely with suppliers and manufacturing partners to identify, resolve, and prevent quality issues throughout the production process.
- Analyse production, outgoing acceptance test, and field performance data to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Lead structured problem-solving activities using methodologies such as 8D and other quality improvement tools.
- Define, implement, and continuously improve quality control plans and inspection checkpoints across:
- - Incoming Quality Control (IQC)
- - In-Process Quality Control (IPQC)
- - Product Acceptance Testing (PAT)
- - Outgoing Quality Assurance (OQA)
- Drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to improve product quality, manufacturing efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
- Work closely with Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, Firmware, Manufacturing, and Product Engineering teams to resolve production and field issues.
- Provide quality engineering input during the New Product Introduction (NPI) process to ensure manufacturability and product robustness.
- Apply statistical analysis and data-driven decision-making to support quality improvements and identify systemic issues.
- Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and manufacturing partners while communicating clearly and effectively.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing quality, supplier quality, or quality engineering.
- Experience in the Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) or broader energy storage industry is highly desirable.
- Proven experience working within manufacturing environments and collaborating with suppliers and contract manufacturers in Mainland China.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing quality systems and production quality control.
- Hands-on experience establishing and improving quality control processes throughout the manufacturing lifecycle.
- Experience defining and implementing inspection and quality checkpoints for IQC, IPQC, Product Acceptance Testing, and OQA.
- Strong root cause analysis and structured problem-solving skills using methodologies such as 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone Analysis, FMEA, or similar quality tools.
- Solid understanding of statistical methods and data analysis to identify trends, drive corrective actions, and support continuous improvement.
- Ability to analyse both manufacturing and field performance data to identify recurring issues and implement long-term solutions.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Self-motivated, able to work independently, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
- Either be based in Changzhou or willing to travel to Changzhou frequently.
- Fluent in written and spoken Mandarin.
