About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Supervise litigation on a portfolio of uninsured loss recovery cases
  • Evaluate claims and proactively implement strategies to maximise outcomes
  • Lead liability investigations by gathering and assessing evidence and establishing negligence
  • Oversee liability or quantum negotiations with defendant solicitors or insurers
  • Draft or support legal proceedings and handle litigation and compliance under the civil procedure rules
  • Lead instruction and liaison with counsel and experts
  • Attend court hearings where necessary
  • Work with the Partner to identify and implement case handler and office training
  • Identify and implement handling best practices across the team
  • Carry out file reviews and audits
  • Maintain client relationships by informing clients about claim progress, providing advice and participating in claims
  • Attend client review meetings where appropriate

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience in motor and/or property damage claims handling
  • Experience managing a caseload and using a case management system
  • Background in supporting or mentoring others
  • Confidence with IT systems, including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to prioritise and deliver high standards of work under tight time constraints while maintaining accuracy
  • Good attention to detail
  • Strong organisational skills while maintaining team processes and procedures
  • Proactive approach to documenting and handling tasks and cases
  • Ability to cope with and respond to sudden client demands
  • Good communication skills and ability to positively influence others
  • Analytical and problem-solving approach
