About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Conduct initial interviews for new consumer client enquiries
  • Prioritise inbound telephone calls and conduct follow-up calls to maximise client instructions
  • Respond to new email and online enquiries within 15 minutes
  • Complete conflict-of-interest and identification checks
  • Liaise with third-party suppliers, agents and experts
  • Provide initial costs advice, prepare retainer documentation and forms of authority, and arrange cover where appropriate
  • Use a case management system to process and progress queries and workflows
  • Research medical terms and procedures relevant to risk assessment
  • Manage rejected enquiries based on jurisdiction, limitation and other risk measures
  • Record and report enquiry status and reasons for non-conversion
  • Produce file rejection correspondence
  • Assist with file closure procedures, archiving and fee collection
  • Draft correspondence and documents
  • Source witness questionnaires
  • Explain the litigation process to clients at initial stages
  • Assist with projects across the wider Managed Legal Services team
  • Take calls from debtors wishing to make payments
  • Respond to enquiries across work streams serviced by other Ampa brands

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience from a sales, customer service, call centre, retail or administrative background advantageous
  • Experience or confidence communicating effectively over the phone
  • Confidence using IT systems, including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Desire to work and progress within a law firm
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise
  • Ability to produce accurate, high-standard work with attention to detail
  • Strong organisational skills while maintaining team processes and procedures
  • Highly enthusiastic and willing to go beyond the job description
  • Respectful, positive, willing and can-do attitude
  • Keen to learn, proactively take ownership and drive career progression
  • Must be able to work weekend shifts and have flexibility during the week
  • No legal experience required; training provided
