About the role
- Working alongside a highly experienced Partner and a team of senior lawyers nationally, you will provide assistance on a broad range of recovery matters and insolvency.
- You will act for insolvency practitioners, lenders and directors to provide fast, pragmatic and commercial advice.
- You’ll be working closely with businesses, directors and individuals facing financial difficulties and running cases efficiently and cost-effectively within strict service level agreements.
Requirements
- experience dealing with both contentious and non-contentious insolvency matters
- drafting skills including preparation of both Insolvency Act Applications and Part 7 claims, general court applications, letters of advice to clients, statements and briefs to counsel
- confidence in finding practical and innovative solutions to a range of problems
- an understanding of business development and having a desire to get involved and support business development
- Previous non-contentious experience including:
- exposure to (and preferably) advising on business sales out of distressed situations
- exposure to (and preferably) providing general advice to lenders and insolvency practitioners in the full range of insolvency situations
- drafting and presenting reviews on various types of security instruments and structures.
- Previous contentious experience including:
- advising on antecedent transactions and directors conduct including drafting and issuing various court applications and working with counsel
- drafting other applications including those seeking to extend the administration period, approval of remuneration, block transfer orders and orders for sale and possession
- general bankruptcy petition and winding up petition work.
