About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist the Controller with most aspects of the accounting department
- Manage day-to-day functions, closing tasks, and audits
- Manage the closing process, projects, year-end, and filings requirements
- Review work completed by the team for accuracy and adherence to agreements
- Ensure the Controller is informed of important changes
- Manage and develop growth, productivity, efficiency, and happiness of employees
- Maintain good working relationships with teams outside of the Accounting department
Requirements
What you’ll need- BS in Accounting
- 8 years of accounting experience
- CPA preferred
- Advanced Excel skills required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite of products
- Experience in real estate, preferably rental properties
- Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Proficiency with Yardi preferred
- Evening/night/weekend work required from time to time
