About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist the Controller with most aspects of the accounting department
  • Manage day-to-day functions, closing tasks, and audits
  • Manage the closing process, projects, year-end, and filings requirements
  • Review work completed by the team for accuracy and adherence to agreements
  • Ensure the Controller is informed of important changes
  • Manage and develop growth, productivity, efficiency, and happiness of employees
  • Maintain good working relationships with teams outside of the Accounting department

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BS in Accounting
  • 8 years of accounting experience
  • CPA preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite of products
  • Experience in real estate, preferably rental properties
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Proficiency with Yardi preferred
  • Evening/night/weekend work required from time to time
