Senior Associate, Value & Access Insights
AmgenValue & Access Insights Senior Associate analyzing policies impacting the biopharmaceutical industry for Amgen. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to support strategic decision-making in healthcare policy.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- The Value & Access Senior Associate is a vital member of the US Value and Access Portfolio Coverage & Pricing team responsible for the analysis of federal and state legislative policies impacting Amgen and the biopharmaceutical industry.
- Engage cross-functionally with value and access, finance, government affairs, marketing, legal and other stakeholders to conduct both qualitative and quantitative assessments of policy proposals and enacted legislation.
- Develop financial models and forecasts to evaluate the potential impact of healthcare policy changes on product pricing, reimbursement, coverage, patient access, revenue, and overall organizational performance.
- Monitoring and assessing emerging federal and state healthcare policy trends;
- Forecasting the financial implications of proposed and enacted legislation;
- Quantifying risks and opportunities associated with policy changes;
- Developing scenario analyses and business impact assessments;
- Providing data-driven recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master’s degree
- Or Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of policy, finance, consulting and/or analytics experience
- Or Associate’s degree and 6 years of policy, finance, consulting and/or analytics experience
- Or High school diploma / GED and 8 years of policy, finance, consulting and/or analytics experience
- 2 years of experience analyzing federal and state policies and legislation that impact the biopharmaceutical industry
- Familiarity with U.S. government pricing concepts and programs, including ASP, AMP, Best Price, Medicaid, and 340B, and their implications for pricing, reimbursement, and access decisions
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Proficiency with building and maintaining complex financial and/or analytical models
- Experience with pharmaceutical/biotech industry
- Familiarity with commonly used biopharmaceutical industry data, including patient, script, claim and government data
- Ability to work on multiple projects and towards multiple deadlines simultaneously
- Willingness to learn and think strategically to support key business decisions
- Strong oral, written and presentation skills; able to explain complex concepts clearly to a variety of audiences including senior leadership teams
- Ability to work collaboratively in teams-based, cross-functional environments.
