Field-based medical expert in the Medical Science Liaison (MSL) group within the medical organization
Interact with Bone Opinion Leaders and Population Healthcare Decision Makers to communicate and advance the scientific platform
Support Scientific Engagement Plan (SEP) in developing local territory R&D tactics
Engage and educate healthcare stakeholders (including APPs, fellows, and residents) by communicating clinical and scientific data
Educate and communicate clinical value, outcomes, and economic data to payers, providers, key stakeholders, advocacy, and access enablers
Provide in depth clinical and pharmacoeconomic support to payers, IDNs, and formulary committees
May serve as main medical point of contact at prioritized local payer, regional payer, and IDN accounts
Respond to unsolicited inquiries consistent with the MSL compliance standards
Provide and/or present field observations and insights to internal stakeholders
Execute scientific engagement plan according to annual MSL goals and metrics
Develop and implement local OL plans in line with SEP and support speaker training
Support Amgen sponsored research and liaise with potential investigators for non-sponsored research; may serve as a study lead
Lead and/or participate on project teams that support MSL strategies and tactics
Lead and support congress activities; may serve as congress lead
Compliantly collaborate with cross-functional colleagues and may serve as main point of contact
Maintain clinical acumen and expertise; may serve as a training lead, new hire mentor, and/or international MSL mentor/trainer
Advance MSL value proposition, identify gaps, achieve results, and demonstrate Amgen values and leadership attributes
Requirements
Doctorate degree & 2 years of Medical Affairs experience OR Master’s degree & 6 years of Medical Affairs experience OR Bachelor’s degree & 8 years of Medical Affairs experience
3+ years of experience as a Medical Science Liaison
Five years of industry experience in Scientific/Medical Affairs at a biotech or pharmaceutical company
Managed market/payer/IDN engagement experience
Five or more years focused on clinical practice, clinical research, or medical research (including residencies and/or fellowships)
Bone health/osteoporosis expertise
Field-based territory coverage (KS/OK/NE/IA) and ability to engage local stakeholders
Ability to respond to unsolicited medical inquiries consistent with MSL compliance standards
