About the role
- Serve as the Business Partner Lead for Research Science Services, reporting directly to the Executive Director for R&D and ATMOS Sourcing
- Define partnership strategies, oversee business planning and governance, and unlock innovation and value realization across Global Research
- Foster collaboration, enable enterprise-wide initiatives, and champion change to position Global Procurement as a strategic value driver
- Serve as a trusted advisor and thought leader within the Research organization
- Forge strategic, high-impact partnerships with key partners across Global Research
- Leverage market intelligence to craft business strategies aligned with Research category objectives
- Work strategically with the supply base to drive supplier-enabled innovation
- Provide Research Procurement expertise to catalyze business development and operational innovation
- Collaborate with Finance and cross-functional teams to generate, capture, and recognize value across the Research pipeline
- Influence budgetary decisions and profit-and-loss outcomes
- Promote adoption of Procurement-led and business-aligned strategic initiatives and bridge procurement performance with business objectives
Requirements
- Doctorate degree and 4 years of experience in procurement, category management, research and development, or related fields
- Master’s degree and 8 years of experience in procurement, category management, research and development, or related fields
- Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of experience in procurement, category management, research and development, or related fields
- At least 4 years experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs, or directing the allocation or resources
- Experience leading Research Procurement categories & teams, from shaping strategies to successful execution (preferred)
- Research Procurement Category experience in Biotech or Pharma (preferred)
- Advanced degree or significant professional experience in Research and Development (preferred)
- Analytical approach focused on performance metrics and value management (preferred)
- Experience in Research Category Management, including Specialty Labs, Lab Supplies and Equipment and Preclinical Studies (preferred)
- Expertise in Research and Development Contracting and/or Sourcing Excellence (preferred)
- Track record of collaborating with senior-level stakeholders as a trusted business partner (preferred)
- Strong leadership and influence within matrixed teams (preferred)
- Demonstrated expertise in spearheading cross-functional initiatives and representing major vertical categories at top-level decision-making forums (preferred)
- Exceptional change management skills (preferred)
- Competence in translating business priorities into actionable category strategies (preferred)
- Deep understanding of driving supplier-enabled innovation into R&D ecosystems (preferred)
- Outstanding communication and collaborator engagement abilities (preferred)
